Bay of Fundy Report

The Bay of Fundy Report is an assessment by Research Management Associates for the Nova Scotia Tourism Vision Team (TVT).

The report expands on existing research to determine the viability and potential of the Bay of Fundy as a potential "Star Generator" for Nova Scotia, and to determine the strategic long term partnerships necessary to assist in growiing this resource for long term and sustainable growth for tourism in Nova Scotia.

One of the 11 Key Vision Recommendations is Star Gnerators.  This recommendation aims to "drive the development of three new "Star Generators" that have the capacity of generating 600,000 to 750,000 visitors per year to the province".

The Digby Area Tourism Association is receiving $45,000 to design and plan the Fundy Discovery Trail.  The project involves an interpretive signage plan as well as way finding signs and identification panels.  The project is supported by a plan that includes goals for development and marketing, and complements the Bay of Fundy Potential Star Generator research study.  The funding is from the Tourism Destination Development Investment program.  Eleven organizations around the province are receiving more than $240,000 to develop and enhance tourism attractions, sites and experiences to attract more visitors to their communities.  (as reported in the Nova Scotia Business Journal, January 2008, Page 7)
